Boating Weekend with
Kevin & Katherine Saturday &
Sunday June 7-8, 2008 BackHome
On
Saturday 6/7/2008, we departed Town Creek at 1100. Very foggy.
Visibility in Paxtuxent River at times less than 300 feet. We cruised
at 6 - 8 knots out into the Chesapeake enroute to La Trappe Creek, off
the Choptank River. First 3 hours were tedious due to extremely poor
visibility. We motored carefully, sounded our horn every two minutes
and listened for other horns. Fortunately, everyone else was being very
slow and cautious as well. Fog persisted till about 1400 when we were
finally able to come up to speed for the final approach to La Trappe
Creek. We arrived 10 minutes after kein and Latherine in K2 II. We
rafter the boates in a cove at 38° 38.053'N 76°
6.596'W. Very hot during the afternoon and evening. Had dinner with
Kevin and Katherine. Later we joined on the flybridge of Ma Lady II and
watched lighneing over the bay. On Sunday we had coffee and breakfast
together. At 1100 we cruised up La Trappe Creek about 1.5 NM then
returned to the Choptank and departed for home. Great trip back to Town
Creek. Perfect weather.

Our anchorage near the entrance to La
Trappe Creek just off the Choptank River. Very quiet. We were the only
boats there for the evening.
