Saturday, August 8, 2009, Suzette and I left Town Creek at 1100. Went
to Solomons/Calvert Marina for fuel and were underway by 1045. Kevin
and Katherine (K2-II) departed Herrington Harbor at the same time and
we rendezvoused in Hooper Strait about 1330. We followed K2-II to
Crisfield, MD - Somers Cove Marina and docked at about 1430. We went to
Watermen's Inn for dinner, then brought desert back to K2-II. Spend a
nice evening at the dock with Kevin and Katherine. Warm and quite windy
Saturday night. A/C worked good. Got up about 0730. Went back to
Watermen's Inn for breakfast. Came back to Somers Cove and got underway
at 1100. Followed K2-II up the Little Annemessex Rive for a short
distance till water got shallow, then turned went back out to Tangier
Sound and made for home. K2-II broke the wake. First half was choppy
with 2 - 3 foot waves, but worked out well following the heavier boat.
Was able to maintain 16 - 17 knots. North end of Tangier Sound was more
calmer and Bay was OK. Broke off from K2-II at entrance to Patuxent
River and were back at dock in Town Creek by 1450. Had a great weekend.
