On
Sunday morning Suzette and I departed Town Creek for Cambridge, MD. A
beautiful day in the bay. About a tow hour trip, we were able to stay
on plane all but about 40 minutes of the way to Cambridge. When we
arrived, we went under the Highway 50 Bridge and continued
northeast up the choptank River for several more miles. We
returned to the Cambridge Yacht Basin, got fuel and went to our
slip. After tying up and cleaning up, Suzette and I walked into
Cambridge and had dinner at Bistro poplar. A very nice dinner. Great
food - great service. Highly recommend it. Fried Green Tomatoes
with lump crab and sauce was a terrific appetizer. After dinner,
we picked up something for breakfast at a Zip Mart and walked back to
the boat. We watched a movie - American Beauty.
Monday morning, we slept in a little bit, then got the boat ready and
were underway by 1040. First 30 - 45 minutes were good in the river up
at speed, but as we made the turn SW, waves increased to 2 - 4 and we
had to slow to 6 knots. A long three hours into 15 - 20 knots and
3 - 4 foot waves. Made it back to Town Creek by 1540. Cleaned the boat
up and called it a great weekend.
