Suzette
and I RON'd on Hideaway Friday night. Walt completed the work on the
davit Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, Suzette and I repositioned
Hideaway to Jim's outer piling and Walt brought the Zodiac over to
Hideaway. We craned the Zodiac aboard about 0830. Davit works much
better after repair. We had breakfast with Jim and Walt and got under
way at 0930. We slow cruised into the Chesapeake, turned north and then
turned into the Choptank River. Kevin and Katherine contacted us and we
pulled into La Trappe Creek and joined Kevin, Katherine, Matt and
Darcy. We put he Zodiac in the water and took turns trying it out. I
worked great. Had it up to 30 knots with two people on board and
without much trimming. We spent two hours in La Trappe, then loaded the
Zodiac and made for Cambridge Municipal Yacht Basin. We tied up at the
T head on H Dock. K- 2 II and Freedom II were a short walk down the
dock. We all joined on Hideaway for drinks, then walked into Cambridge
for dinner at Bistro Poplar.
Had a wonderful dinner and returned to the
boats. We had a good night on board. Got up Sunday morning, had coffee
with Kevin and Katherine, and got underway about 0930. Some light rain
showers the first two hours, but then cleared up nicely. We drove from
the pilot house and slow cruised all the way to Solomons. We pulled
into Zahniser's and used the pump out station then repositioned to B
dock where we left the boat for some repairs to the navigation system.
A wonderful weekend on the water and a great Father's Day.
