Raeford drove to Lexington Park on Wednesday afternoon. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden with Jim, then shopped for a few groceries. We returned to NH-1 at Jim's dock and prepared for early Thursday morning departure.

Thursday morning we had 0530 revellie. We were underway from Town Creek at 0600. Sunrise was 0724. There was about a 2/3 moon overhead and weather was clear. We departed slowly to avoid any crab traps. We were eastbound into the Chesapeake at twilight.

We turned south enroute to WIlloughby Bay, Norfolk, VA. We made about 8.5 knots on 1500 RPM. Highlight of the southbound leg was the submarine we saw running northbound on the surface near Point Nopoint at 0905. Quartering wind and 2 - 3 ft quartering chop had the boat rolling a little bit.

We arrived the vicinity of the Hampton Road Bridge tunnel around 1730. We gave way to some inbound cargo ships, then navigated the channel into Willoughby Bay. We anchored at 36 57.7806 76 16.4520 in ~10' of water at 1755 near I-64 as it passes over Willoughby Bay. We cruised 97.3 NM. 10 - 15 kt wind and a light chop on the Bay kept us moving around a little throughout the night.
