USS ESSEX (LHD 2) and USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3), sail parallel in the Persian Gulf, while cross deck maneuvers are made to share supplies, personnel and equipment, September 9. This is the first time in history which Essex & Belleau Wood have traded supplies in this manner. Essex is currently under deployment in the Persian Gulf.
